Make a Difference in the Life of a Student
The 2nd Annual Orange & Blue Scholarship Gala supports the mission of Lynnhaven School: to provide a social learning experience built on the principles of progressive education where each and every student is expected to pursue successes, to celebrate victories, and to learn from defeats. Proceeds will go directly toward scholarships for students with demonstrated financial need. We never want the cost of attending to be a barrier for students who thrive in a progressive education environment.
As Richmond’s first microschool, where students take ownership of their learning, ask questions, challenge assumptions, and develop new solutions through project-based learning, we champion the principles of progressive education. It is a one-of-a-kind education experience and our ambition is to continue making a Lynnhaven education within reach for families with a demonstrated need. Tuition assistance lowers the financial barrier for their child to thrive in an environment that embraces their differences and prepares them for life beyond the classroom.
Last year, our Orange and Blue Gala was so successful we were able to fully fund our tuition assistance for the year, impacting 37% of students. We were also able to begin our very first merit scholarship, the Jennifer Lynn Harris Community Impact Scholarship with the first awardees to be celebrated at the gala!
This
year's theme is Kentucky Derby to celebrate the 150th Derby weekend. Join us for an evening of
southern food, derby hats, and other derby traditions as we come together to share progressive
education!
